Paper Planning & Scope: • Jerome led discussion on structure, scope, and focus on data documentation and basic characterization, rather than hypothesis-driven analysis. • Structure: Background, methods, data records, technical validation, usage notes; reuse figures/abstracts from previous work. • Analysis Scope: Focus on basic characterization (e.g., receptive fields) advanced analyses reserved for future papers. • Modalities: Include voltage imaging and example analyses Figure & Panel Organization: • Jerome proposed a figure panel list with contributor assignments; Google Sheets/Docs/Slides to organize work. • Contributors add their names to panels they will build; contributing ensures co-authorship. • Figures to align analyses across modalities with consistent structure. Timeline & Workflow: • Target paper completion by June; data collection ongoing. • Allen team writes methods section with collaborator input. • Collaborative workflow using Google tools for text and figure sketches. Code & Data Accessibility: • Well-documented code and open-access repositories required. • Supporting code by contributors to be included for usability. Future Analyses & Hypothesis Papers: • Data release paper focuses on documentation; advanced analyses planned for separate hypothesis-driven papers. • Clear planning for future analyses to avoid overlap or confusion. Follow-up Tasks: 1. Edit Excel sheet for figure panel assignments. 2. Draft timeline targeting June completion. 3. Provide cloud access for voltage imaging data. 4. Set up Google Sheet, Doc, and Slides for collaborative writing and figure organization. (Jerome, Alexander)
